The “Tamil Nadu Sustainably Harnessing Ocean Resources and Blue Economy (TN-SHORE)” project aims to enhance the resilience and sustainable utilization of coastal resources through a multi-pronged approach. It envisions a holistic integration of various sectors to drive a resilient and circular blue economy, enhance local livelihoods, and capacities for a greener future. This project is developed to balance ecological, socio-economic, and infrastructural needs, ensuring that the benefits of coastal development are sustained while mitigating risks from natural and human-induced hazards. The TN SHORE Project’s strategic vision encompasses the dual goals of enhancing community resilience and promoting sustainable economic growth along Tamil Nadu’s extensive coastline. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.1675 Crores (World Bank assistance – Rs.1172.5 Crore (+) Tamil Nadu State Component Rs.502.5 Crores) including the State share with activities spread over Financial Years 2025-2030.
