Meendum Manjappai” (Return of the Yellow Bag) is a behavioural change campaign launched by the Government of Tamil Nadu to tackle plastic pollution. By reviving the manjappai—a reusable yellow cloth bag traditionally used by Tamils—the initiative promotes sustainability, cultural identity, and circular economy practices. Relaunched in December 2021, the campaign replaces single-use plastic bags with manjappais while supporting green livelihoods through women-led production units.
