As part of the Pallatur Lake Restoration initiative, 700 native tree saplings were provided through the Green TamilNadu Mission (GTM) and the Forest Department to enhance the lake’s ecological health and resilience. The plantation aimed to stabilize lake bunds, improve groundwater recharge, and restore local biodiversity. The use of native species ensures better adaptability to local climatic conditions, supports pollinators and bird habitats, and strengthens the long-term sustainability of the restored ecosystem. This initiative contributes to climate resilience, community well-being, and the revival of natural ecosystems around Pallatur Lake.
