This project was inagurated on 06.10.2025. For the very first time in India, the Kozhikamuthi Elephant Camp and Mahout Village at Anamalai Tiger Reserve are powered entirely by a solar micro-grid. A 124-kilowatt solar plant, a 516-kilowatt-hour battery bank, and a 100-kilowatt inverter ensure round the clock, reliable green power for the camp and 47 mahout households.
By day, the village runs on solar energy. By night, stored power keeps homes and facilities alive even through rain or cloud. It is a living model of energy independence, sustainable living, and respect for people and nature.
