The project has developed a Gender Responsive Adaptation Planning Tool (GReAPT), a user-friendly decision support tool designed to facilitate the integration of climate risk information and gender responsiveness into block level agriculture and water sectors planning.
The project also focuses on creating an enabling environment for integrating gender responsiveness and climate risk information into local planning processes across the district by capacity building of local planners and stakeholders and integrating the GReAPT tool into developmental plans of four additional blocks and gram panchayats in Virudhunagar district.
The project is advocating policy driven integration of gender-responsive, climate risk information into local development planning through the preparation of three targeted policy briefs for relevant line departments in the state.
